Behind every picture lies a story, that much is true. However ‘Giverny Reflections I’ doesn’t tell the entire tale, chapter and verse unfortunately.
Not as to acclaimed contemporary artist, John Myatt’s fascinating story that is, which would take a far larger canvas and more extensive palette, on account of his colourful past. But what ‘Giverny Reflections I’ does do is imagine how Claude Monet might have painted this version of visual events, had he not instead focused his attentions elsewhere around his estate.
Myatt’s superb new take on an unapologetically Monet theme is available here as a signed and individually numbered limited edition composition, produced on a hand-embellished giclee surface area.
