Blink and you’ll miss it, but if the rumours are true, this chap’s had a smart new haircut. We’re guessing the style is a short back and sides, as we’ve got little else to go on as we write.
Which is precisely how the artist likes it, apparently. But when you discover that the artist responsible for ‘Happy New Haircut’ is none other than comedian and star of TV, Billy Connolly, then you’re probably all the wiser.
A man who likes to be different in most things he does, Connolly has applied this way of thinking to his new-found contemporary figurative art career. Highlighted here in one of his most recent studies, entitled, ‘Happy New Haircut’. Simple is as simple was, Connolly’s characters are typically constructed from a series of exceedingly neat and tidy lines, etched in black ink.
His no thrills approach definitely appeals as graphically his towering monotone compositions grab and hold your attention in this overly elaborate world in which we live.
