Normally when lions roar, you jump. Yet this wasnít the case Ė as well documented by MGM Ė with ĎThe Wizard of Ozís Lioní character; who we all know lacked the conviction. Or more importantly, his courage. Itís this absence of courage which acclaimed contemporary figurative artist, Craig Davison has illustratively picked up on in his brand new 2014 reveal seen here. Not that thereís any crisis of confidence in the face of the youngster readily imagining herself to be the cowardly lion in Davisonís ĎIím A Dandy Lion. A Fate I Donít Deserveí.
Conversely the mane-haired star of the giclee canvas appears more than happy in her skin, as the much sought after Davison pictorially dishes up one of his trademark shadowy characters; and the fundamental alter ego of the imaginatively-impressive child pictured as ever in the foreground of this individually signed new study, which is limited to a mere 195 editions on its launch this Spring.
