While often Paul Corfield illustratively opts for more muted colourations to tell his overtly rural tales of love and belonging, on his latest pictorial outing he’s instead chosen to illuminate our views of nature in the most electrifying of hues and saturations; with clarity the overriding visual element within this particular episode. Not that we’re complaining, as with a title of ‘Sunrise over the Village’, you’d expect a blazing sun to put in an appearance, accompanied in its blinding majesty by the greenest (and lushest) of greenery and most graphically decadent of skies. And on this occasion we’re treated to not one, not even two but a total of at least six white-washed dwellings, nestled in the hillside in the geographical middle of this brand new giclee on board limited edition, released this autumn 2017 by the acclaimed contemporary landscape fine art practitioner. This 40” x 20” iteration really is beautifully painted and projects an energy and resonance all of its own.
