Forming one-sixth of his current, ‘Born on a Rainy Day’ collection of art works, ‘Pink Tie and Hanky’ is the latest in contemporary figurative artist, Billy Connolly’s recent collection entitled, ‘Born on a Rainy Day’.
Available now as a signed, limited edition piece, Connolly’s ‘Pink Tie and Hanky’ requires no introduction. Which is just as well, on account of the comedic Scot insisting that his studies are typically just streams of conscience and don’t benefit from descriptions, background stories or hidden meanings.
In fact, he believes that art should be interpreted by the individual looking out upon it at the time, and invites the casual observer to provide their own narrative.
For the record, what we see is three doodled characters, each wearing a different suit, determined by the length and thickness of the series of lines rather than by any colourations, as Connolly prefers to work in black/grey inks.
What they’re doing, is anyone’s guess, what they want, likewise. What we do know is that ‘Pink Tie and Hanky’ would look fine and dandy in any modern living space.
