With the weight of the world bearing down on its shoulders, Billy Connolly’s (yes, THAT Billy Connolly’s) most recent ink-derived composition is quite the forlorn sight which greets us here. ‘Blue Angel’ is what it implies it is on the tin, an angel.
Albeit being blue of mood rather than colouration. Which might make it resemble a Smurf, so it’s just as well it’s steadfastly monotone in visual execution.
Contemporary figurative artist, Connolly’s unique and fascinating study of an unorthodox-looking angel, world-weary with, perhaps, the burden of the populace bearing down on its fragile, vulnerable form is available as a signed work, and is part of a limited edition run at this moment in time.
‘Blue Angel’ is one-sixth of Connolly’s latest collection, entitled, ‘Born on a Rainy Day’.
