Looking for all its worth like one of those little alien dudes you see in American movies emerging from crop fields having just landed there moments earlier, contemporary figurative artist, Billy Connolly’s latest piece, ‘The Man in the Long Grass’ finds a primatively designed person, arms outsretched , head tilted back at the edge of a grassy domain.
The white silhouette character is fairly ordinary in visual construct, whilst the backdrop of grasses is executed with painstaking detail in the individual blades, based on a series of dedicated black ink-rendered lines with an almost symmetrical value.
Connolly’s ‘The Man in the Grass’ comes signed by the artist himself and forms part of a limited edition run.
