Presented here as a mounted giclee piece, 'PS I Love You' is the latest pictorial incarnation by new contemporary animal artist, Hayley Goodhead.
Menswear designer, Paul Smith might have expanded his colourful stripe and line-applying repertoire to alien surfaces such as china sets, fragrance packaging, rugs, bags and even an Austin Mini car away from his more habitual clothing empire, yet as far as we’re aware he hasn’t broadened his horizons so far as to envelop zebras.
On the other hand, up-and-coming new contemporary animal artist, Hayley Goodhead has subjected a zebra to a degree of colourific stripeage as seen in her latest visual proposition, ‘P.S I Love You’.
Inspired by the celebrated fashion designer’s traditional coloured stripe designs, Goodhead was equally influenced by the Hilary Swank film of the same title. Quirkily she fused the two seemingly unconnected themes together and arrived at ‘P.S (Paul Smith) I Love you’.
Which gets a great big thumbs up from us for ingenuity and illustrative elegance, as the zebras in question are astonishingly well pictorially upholstered, as is Goodhead’s default setting.
