Presented here as a giclee on boxed canvas piece, 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' is the latest pictorial incarnation by new contemporary animal artist, Hayley Goodhead.
The Usual Suspects meets King Kong. There. We said it. It’s patently obvious isn’t it? Prisoner-style mug shots of a large gorilla? Well, no actually, we’re wrong.
Inspired by many a cultural reference – and a massive fan of films we have it on good authority – ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ pays artistically licensed homage to spaghetti westerns according to the artist responsible for the unique, quirky and subtly humourous new piece witnessed here.
Innovative and much-talked about contemporary animal artist, Hayley Goodhead, name checks THE ‘Spaghetti Western’ flick of 1966 which focuses on the relationships and interactions of a triumvirate of characters the polar opposite of one another.
The stars of the eponymous titled film were of course the revered likes of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef, whilst in Goodhead’s eyes they are slightly hairier and even more volatile than a gun-slinging Eastwood in his prime to be fair. Great colours, weight, balance and composure to the study makes it a welcome addition to any home in our estimation.
