Inspired by a Dorset landmark geographically local and even closer to the heart of widely recognized contemporary landscape artist, Paul Corfield, Old Harry Rocks is found at the mouth of Poole Harbour. Typically Corfield opts to capture these vistas from the other side of the hill near the harbour, yet on this specific illustrative occasion elected to depict a pictorially familiar scene from the Swanage Bay side.
The resultant ‘Chalk Cliffs’ is a gloriously etched, coloured, pictorially realised and instantly identifiable Corfield number which is presented as a giclee on canvas study whilst also bearing the artist’s typographical hallmark alongside his signature graphic one in terms of the bigger picture. This brand new, limited edition piece is released as part of Corfield’s all-new Spring 2014 collection.
