Abstract? Yes, to a point. Japanese art-ish? Again, yes, to a point. Traditional seascapes which fulfil the criteria of a specific genre? Er, definitely not. Although not the first name on the team sheet when it comes to the element of artistic rebirth and perpetual reinvention, nevertheless (hitherto) contemporary maritime artist, Duncan MacGregor has defied the odds by imagining and going on to manifest a new mini-series, released Spring 2014, which readily defy (his) previous creative convention.
And he should be applauded for it to, as we pore over MacGregor’s brand new Spring 2014 compositional release witnessed here and available to order now. ‘Ancient Knowledge II’ is a massive aside to the award-winning seascape-producing fine artist’s , however well and truly hits the illustrative mark. Whether or not this limited edition, hand-signed and embellished giclee number is the shape and style of things to come, we’ll have to wait and see, however for the time being we should all rejoice in MacGregor’s new directional pull.
