A riotous meeting of colouration grabs the visual headlines in this brand new Spring 2014 release from an artist usually far more at home beside the sea. Or more pertinently, in it; in terms of depicting his favoured and more habitual muse of all things nautical. Said artist is of course of the hugely celebrated contemporary maritime art type, Duncan MacGregor, whose very latest reveal is captured here.
Entitled, ‘Wild Flowers I’, this perceived new direction for MacGregor, whilst perhaps surprising many puritans, will go down a storm with his army of fans, as more than enough hints of the old school are present and correct. Not just hints, but hues and saturations too. Offered as a hand-embellished and artist-signed compositional realisation, this MacGregor visual departure is limited in its production run to just 195 editions; meaning it will shift off gallery shelves fast. Very fast.
