There’s definite elements of the Jackson Pollocks about this, the brand new release from an artist usually more concerned with maritime matters it’s fair to say. That artist under scrutiny is none other than the fabled contemporary seascaper, Duncan MacGregor, who has called our bluff by brandishing previously unseen subject matter illustratively aloft of late; and especially noted here in his latest, highly anticipated reveal, ‘Wild Flowers II’.
As the title implies, there’s flowers involved, as opposed to boats, whilst there’s an exuberance of painted delivery which we’ve seldom seen before. A more fluid, almost explosive depicture of a far less travelled creative path than what us Duncan MacGregor fans are used to laying witness to. All the same, this marvellously expressive hand-embellished giclee study (complete with artist-signature) is a delight to behold and will doubtless shift in high number (although strictly no more than the 195 limited editions set aside from the outset).
