Taking its name from the classic Marvin Gaye number, ‘Herd it Through the Grapevine’, this is of course, a witting play on words for the sake of putting a smile on our faces. And boy does it always work in Caroline Shotton’s case. Knowing exactly how and when to press our visual stimulation buttons, the hugely popular contemporary animal humour artist has grabbed our attentions (and immediately turned the corners of our mouths upwards) once again this Autumn 2014 with the release of this, her very latest bovine-based graphic spectacular.
Those loveable cow-faced rogues of hers have been at it again, enjoying highly illustrative misadventures galore, this time in the vicinity of seasonally-selected grapes. We can only hope that they haven’t been made responsible for pressing the final ingredients with their heavy-footed hooves. Presented here as a Shotton-signed, boxed canvas iteration, this brand new offering from the award-winning fine artist is limited to a mere 150 editions from the outset. Which means people might be trampled as badly as those grapes in the ensuing stampede to lay claim to one of these examples, if they didn’t reserve their copies online (or by phone) instead. A lot safer if you ask us.
