Five has always been the magic number. Be it in the numerically advantageous terms of boybands (Take That, 5ive, BackStreet Boys, Westlife, Boyzone – must we go on??) of the ideal quantity required for childhood adventures. Taking the ever popular digit and graphically running with it here in this compositional episode is one Samantha Ellis; the exciting new contemporary fine artist in our midst who has just released this, her equally brand new and pulse-quickening pictorial release as an integral part of her Spring 2016 portfolio.
Entitled (what else but?) ‘Take Five’, Ellis’ creative tour de force (although that should actually read, ‘tour de fivece’ – if there was such a word) centres on not the singular, but x5 versions on a highly illustrative VW camper van theme. Crafted in a frenetically hued and splatteringly saturated array of empowering colours, this stunningly manifest quintet of all things Vee-Dub and classic has been materialised in the pictorial context of a giclee on board limited edition; and comes bearing the in-demand Ellis’ moniker for good measure.
