Describing the human form as amongst her passions, in-demand contemporary figurative sculpture artist, Jennine Parker dedicates much of her time to completing life drawings according to the leading UK exponent of the genre herself. It’s this almost single-minded focus which in turn encourages strong observation in the subject matter she’s chosen to run with for a number of years now, and is, essentially, the foundation of her creative works. ‘Protection’ is yet further three-dimensionally-created testament to this, a 5” x 17” bronze sculpture which harnesses one of the cornerstones of Parker’s brand new Spring 2016 mini-series.
That mini-series is entitled, ‘Guardian Angels’ and is largely inspired by powerful human emotions such as love, devotion and the titular, protection in no small part. Limited to just 195 individually signed studies, this angelic presence cast before us embodies a heavenly creature in the throes of unfurling her wings as a means to safeguard those around her, and from a form and physique perspective owes a lot to the best-selling Parker’s gymnastic-participating formative years; as the artist herself is quick to point out. Now available both online and in the gallery, we’d recommend that interested parties contact us ASAP to avoid potential disappointment.
