On the 400th anniversary of his death, much-admired contemporary fine artist, Kerry Darlington has paid visual homage to the great Shakespeare himself, by way of crafting this astonishing hand-embellished and glossed unique edition which focuses on, arguably, one of the bard’s most famous (and notably star-crossed) lovers/lead characters, namely ‘Romeo and Juliet’. That said, the award-winning Darlington’s pictorial version of dramatic events, graphically sidesteps the acts of tragedy and instead concentrates on the pursuit of love; ergo taking an alternative leaf out of fellow scribe, Yeats’ famous poem, entitled ‘Cloths of Heaven’. Incidentally, the galaxies pictured are the embroidered clothes of heaven enveloping the aforementioned star-crossed lovers. Bringing us right, smack bang up to date this Autumn 2016, you’ll be pleased to learn that this Darlington-monikered 41” x 28” limited edition study can now be enquired about, simply by picking up the phone, dropping us an email or indeed, paying us a visit in the gallery to discuss the piece.
