He have it on good authority (straight from the highland cattle’s mouth, or at least, the man behind the illustrative creation of) that this brand new Robert Oxley pictorial reveal was inspired by Scotland itself. The country, the people, the culture and obviously a flash of tartan where it’s compositionally deemed appropriate. The widely-regarded contemporary wildlife artist, Oxley backed up this claim by adding; “I wanted to use a loose tartan colour scheme. We use tartan to honour our ancestral clans.” And hence the overtly highland-esque hues and saturations freely used (and dripped) in one of our favourite art practitioner’s very latest Spring 2018 limited edition. ‘Robbie’ is presented in the guise of a hand-embellished and signed boxed canvas piece, and we’re welcoming enquiries about this sublimely-crafted 52” x 36” iteration here and now.
