Following on from the unprecedented success of his debut collection, elusive contemporary fine art photographer, Mr Kuu is back with more of the same (in terms of macro photographically-composed pictorials) this Spring 2018; and boy are we excited at this prospect. Every so often a creative ingénue comes along who blows our tiny minds, and most recently that individual has been Mr Kuu and his, well, teeny tiny figures and their imaginative juxtapositioning with their immediate environments. All in the name of contemporary art. The in-demand Mr Kuu’s mini folk are captured in extreme close-up, otherwise engaged in conveying their affections/love for one another, for the most (visual) part. Take for example ‘Check Mate’, as observed hereabouts. This giclee mounted limited edition iteration is cast in monochrome, and injected with colouration merely courtesy of the miniature figures present on and around the chess piece. Measuring some 16” x 24” and bearing the fascinating Mr Kuu’s moniker, ‘Check Mate’ is now readily available.
